PT Month 2002 Special Event! The Golden Gate District with the NorthEast and San Jose Districts co-sponsored a Town Hall Meeting at the Stanford Barn in Palo Alto.
APTA President Ben Massey, Jr spoke to more than 150 attendees about APTA's Vision 2020 and the strategic plan for the transition of Physical Therapy to a Doctoring Profession. He
also encouraged members to make use of the PT Bulletin Online and its up to date information. Ben also encouraged all Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants to contact their federal legislators in support of pending action including the Medicare Direct Access Bill and the moratorium on the $1500 cap for Medicare Outpatient PT services.
CPTA Secretary and Government Affairs Committee Member Rick Ritter spoke on the status of several state bills that were monitored this past year including the Sunset Review of the
PT Practice Act, OT Practice Act changes, AT licensure
